Blundstones, designed in 1870, are surprisingly lightweight for weatherproof leather boots that are both stylish and incredibly comfortable. They work great in wet weather, making them perfect for urban winter cycling. The ankle-high leather on both the front and back of the boots prevented water from soaking my socks, yet the elastic sides allowed enough flex that there was little to no binding. The soles might be a bit soft for long rides, but they are perfect for anything under 10 miles (16 kilometers) and are super comfortable off the bike.

  • winter cycling?

Seriously, winter commuting in my area means ski goggles, lobster claw mitts, 2 or 3 layers up top, and neoprene booties. Wearing blundstones in February means you'd lose a toe if you're lucky.
