The Catlike Whisper Plus helmet is the lightest that I have tested, the medium I wore weighing a mere 265 grams. It has an aerodynamic shape that is good for ventilation. In fact, this helmet has 39 venting holes in a honeycomb pattern that allow heat to escape at the front, back and sides. The design has an added cool factor, too: it has an impressive sleekness and the added bonus of looking as well as feeling comfortable to wear.

The adjustable ratchet strap, which hangs below the rear of the helmet, made it possible to quickly and easily adjust it the size both on and off my head. The design also allows for a snugger fit, virtually eliminating any movement of the helmet forwards and backwards or to the sides while I was riding. The one comment I would have is that the rubberized pads around the strap that helped make the fit more secure did stick in my hair a bit when I put the helmet on and took it off.

The Whisper Plus has a slippery outer surface that would allow it to slide upon impact, which can reduce injury; and, the “crash energy splitter” (CES) technology used for the body of the helmet diffuses any force across the interconnected ridges between the vents.

Overall, I would say that the Catlike Whisper Plus is best-suited to individuals who want to invest in a helmet that is aerodynamic and light-weight, vents exceptionally well and can provide a nice snug fit.

I personally enjoyed riding with it because of the lightness of the helmet. For those longer rides, I found it put less strain on my neck. I pretty much forgot that I was even wearing a helmet a few minutes after putting it on.

The Whisper Plus also comes with a soft travel pod that you can use to protect it when traveling or store it between rides.

Available colors: Cervelo White, Matte Black, Red/ White, Rainbow, White/ Carbon and White.

Available sizes: small, medium and large.

  • free

this kind of reminds me of those Pet Rocks people used to buy.

I know of something that does pretty much the same job, weighs 265 grams less, and is free.

Oh well. To each his own. The economy has to move along somehow (even if it is an inefficient economy)

  • Nice

The price is insignificant. Finally a helmet that looks good, is light, and has safety in mind. Compared to the crap out there, I would happily pay for something that does all three at the top of the scale.

  • Seriously?

Agree with above. How many people are in the $300 helmet market, even if it does weigh nothing? Oh.....roadies. Nevermind.
