California Pizza Kitchen is now using an Ultra Motor U2B electric bike to make pizza deliveries in San Francisco, CA.

SAN FRANCISCO, CA - California Pizza Kitchen and electric bicycle manufacturer Ultra Motor announced the launch of their new custom A2B delivery vehicle platform in September last year. CPK’s nationwide now have the ability to deliver pizza warm and fresh via a custom-designed delivery bike and trailer.

Ultra Motor worked together with CPK to design a robust delivery platform, which includes a custom trailer (with insulated pizza bag), custom signage, and the secondary battery which provides the A2B Metro with an overall range of 40 miles under battery power.

CPK restaurants across the US are now able to reach a broader market, all while cutting down on delivery times and allowing the food to arrive as fresh as possible. Since upgrading to the A2B Metro package, CPK has noted a significant increase in local delivery business, as well as heightened visibility to their use of innovative, alternative forms of transportation.

“Because the A2B is such an eye-catching and recognizable design, it instantly attracts onlookers who are curious as to what the vehicle is, and what it’s being used for, which is ultimately a win-win for the category and for the end user,” said Chris Connolly of Ultra Motor. “We’re just happy to bring awareness to the category, and to let people know that LEV’s can be custom-tailored to work for just about any application that can be imagined.”

Phase one of the rollout brings the A2B Metro to 20+ markets nationwide, with expansion likely in more markets as the program continues to expand and mature.

Oh yeah, BB5's are great for that bike. Those rotors won't warp at all.
