A good place to become immersed in Fort Collins’ velo-centric atmosphere is the Bean Cycle coffeehouse and bookstore. Located on North College Street, bike riders abound in this part of the city, and a good number of them are drawn to Bean Cycle for its coffee and camaraderie.

Big City Burrito on South College Avenue is also amazing. This is not your regular burrito joint. Pick from handmade salsas, guacamole and a variety of choices of wraps to create your own gastronomic masterpiece. Everything is fresh and it’s all made right in front of you with nary a microwave in sight.

The New Belgium Brewing Company offers some of the finest beer you’ll find anywhere. This company has played a huge part in promoting cycling culture in Fort Collins and is legendary for its signature Fat Tire Ale. Daily tours of the brewery include beer tasting and discussion about the Brewery’s eco-friendly and socially responsible philosophy. Even for those who are not beer drinkers, a visit to the brewery is a chance to hang out with quality people at one of the most bike-friendly places you’ll ever find.

New Belgium’s Tour de Fat Bicycle parade and festival takes place this year on September 4 – newbelgium.com
