giveaminute.info

Give a Minute interactive website.

By Aretha Munro

Give a Minute is a new project that is enabling a new kind of dialogue. The idea, created by advocacy group, CEOs for Cities and media design firm Local Projects, is that it only takes a minute to think about improving your city. This interactive site gives people an opportunity to express their thoughts, address problems in their city and enter into dialogue with "change-making community leaders" via texting or posting online to giveaminute.info One of the leaders will be, Ron Burke, Executive Director of the Active Transportation Alliance.

The first pilot project has launched in Chicago. The city of Chicago is currently being asked the following:

Hey Chicago, what would encourage you to walk, bike and take CTA more often?

Chicago’s leaders will be sending personal responses to their favorite ideas and comments. As well, all ideas will be reviewed by community leaders from the private and public sector. The cities of Memphis, New York City and San Jose are soon to follow in this project.

You can visit the site and contribute to Chicago's question here.
