Sometimes, all a suit needs to make it look great is a nice colorful little pocket square in the breast pocket. This is how I felt when I first attached the Tauro saddlebag to the seat of my bicycle. Made of full grain leather and tanned with vegetable dyes, there is a wonderful depth of texture and warmth of color that only fine natural products seem to have.

The shiny nickel-plated steel buckle and Chicago screw points are nice accents that add to the feeling of durability.

Handmade by Tom Fortington in Vancouver, BC, you can be certain that each stitch - using thick waxed nylon thread - is designed to last a long time. He is pretty confident and offers a 40-year warranty on all his workmanship.

The attachment mechanism takes advantage of the two little slots found on the back of many saddles (all leather saddles seem to have them). It is easy to attach and can be removed in just a few seconds, which you will probably find yourself doing frequently, as this bag looks way too good to be left alone on you bicycle.

The saddlebag is large enough to hold one tall beer can with plenty of room to spare and has an adjustable belt that goes around the bag.

There are four little metal rings riveted to the outside of the flap that allow you to get creative and attach all sorts of things, like an emergency rain jacket or even a U-lock. Best of all, if you want to have a custom color, or the creative embossing design of your dreams, Fortington can probably help you out.
