One of the Weber Monoporter’s best features stands out when it’s put away. The lightweight single-wheel trailer’s ingenious folding system shrinks it to a small enough size to be stored inside its own cargo dry bag when not in use. The ease of storage and its light weight probably mean a trade-off in long-term durability, but the convenience factor plus the locking hitch make it a good choice for urban apartment dwellers looking for an easy-to-store trailer for occasional cargo trips or bike tours. The German-designed Monoporter weighs 13 pounds (5.75 kilograms) and is rated for a 55-pound (25-kg) payload. The trailer tracked straight and smoothly behind the bike while carrying loads as diverse as a big picnic for four, five loads of laundry and a child’s bicycle.
