Clearly Yakkay has looked at helmets available in the market and decided that they were going focus on style first. There is no question that these canvas covered hard shell helmets are revolutionary. Finally helmets are an accessory that can seamlessly be integrated into your wardrobe. While testing the helmet in the city, I was anticipating that it looks more like a hat than a helmet and would pass unnoticed. But instead, I found that at every stop, I received compliments and questions as to where they could be found. Often from people who were not even on a bicycle.

Thankfully, the function is part of the design. The helmets meets the European safety CE standard (EN1078). The chin strap is elegant and simple to adjust. They come in three sizes Small (53-55 cm), Medium (55-57 cm) and Large (57-59 cm). To further adjust the fit you have to choose from three different sized foam pads. Although this works reasonably well, an adjustable strap at the back of the head would have made fine tuning the fitting easier and more snug. These helmets make it a pleasure to step out for any trip on my bike knowing that style and function can live in harmony.
