Neil De Groote, designer and creator of the Fotopod mobile photo booth.

This furry photo booth on three wheels, the Fotopod, is a labor of love from creator Neil De Groote.

He designed it for his own wedding because he wanted something that would inspire his wedding guests to let loose and have fun. Assembled from borrowed and scavenged parts and covered in playful fur, it was a smash hit. Since then he’s been bringing it out to functions and events all over Vancouver where it’s been met with smiles and enthusiasm.

Despite creating such a popular machine, though, De Groote still has a few items on his wish list for the Fotopod. At the moment, its mobile power source is a single car battery that gives him just a few hours of juice when he doesn’t have access to an electrical outlet. He’d like to outfit the Fotopod with solar panels to keep him out and about longer. He’d also like to try outfitting the bike with an electric motor to increase the distance he could travel and help haul the heavy load up hills and steep inclines.
