Annual Velopalooza Festival Is Here
\/elopalooza, an 18-day festival of bike fun in Vancouver, is set to start this Friday, June 15 and runs to Tuesday, July 2.
At the festival, anyone and everyone is encouraged to host and attend bike rides and events. You can find a full schedule of daily events at velopalooza.ca or on one of the printed calendars that will be distributed around town by Translink.
This year there are 124 events, with more to corne, including events and rides about:
- parks, green spaces, and the great outdoors,
- food and eating,
- hidden gems of the city,
- local history, hobbies, political activism,
- rides for families and children, and
- themed dress code and bike style rides.
Something truly for everyone!
On Friday, the festival starts with a Morning Mass, an early morning fresh bike ride. Then the festival kicks into gear that evening with The Bike Rave at 9:00pm.
Inspired by Portand's Pedalpalooza, \/elopalooza first occurred in Vancouver in June 2010 over ten days with 68 events.
