Commuter Heaven!

I would use my new pannier to commute to and from work. I would love to inspire others to ride to and from work as I am only among 8 cyclists out of 6000 at my company's campus. This pannier will turn heads and bring smiles and thumbs up to all who see it.

Carrying future memories

I would carry my camera so I could take snapshots of the lovely park i ride through and candid shots of the scenery, a journal to write all the wonderful feelings and thoughts that I enjoy while riding, a light sweater and pretty scarf for the brisk weather, a copy of the current Momentum Magazine to stop and read while in the park or the local coffee shop.. mostly I would be carrying "future memories" in the Dutchy Upcycle Bannier Pannier

This would be perfect for my wife. It would carry all her commuting gear and have room for quick shopping trips on way home. Much better then the backpack she currently uses. Very pretty.

I'll Carry It ALL

I’ll carry my phone, inner tubes, tire levels, pump and glasses. On yoga class days I’ll carry my yoga mat and a change of clothes. And for farmers market days I’ll carry fresh produce. For visiting friends I’ll carry a change of clothes. And if my Hubby is real nice, I'll let him use it too!

Packing it for the Pack

I'm a volunteer ride marshal for a monthly ride we do in Southern California. I would probably carry extra tubes, water, first aid kit, fruit, snacks, some tools, camera and a kite. Nothing beats riding a few miles with several dozen people of all ages than to have a bbq and fly some kites!

Andrew Yip more than 1 year ago

emergency supplies and groceries

An aluminum 9-LED light from the Dollar store, universal wrench, my bike helmet, some small change, odd bolts and screws, cash register receipts, spare camera batteries, and occasionally some groceries.

If I upgrade to an ebike, I might disguise my lithium batteries in there.

Dutchy Pannier

I'll be honest. I would carry old cartons of take-out in my pannier; old homework, pencils, and coins with lint balls and sticky bits; and forgotten grocery bags. I would occasionally cast my Macbook among this debris, and it would be cleaned every three, four, or five weeks.

Tiffany Hensley more than 1 year ago

Art!!

Sketchbook, colored pencils, pens, camera stuffed in a corner. That leaves plenty of room for groceries. produce, chocolate, and local ale. Off the left side of my rack is a Wald wire basket. That holds ulock, cable lock, small but well stocked first aid kit, mini pump, patch kit, mini tool kit, and more and still has a lot of room I have a bungie cord net to put over the top if it's near full.

But it's usually not enough space for a sketchbook or two so I'd love this for the commutermobile.

I would put a wide array of things in this beautiful pannier ! Wallet, keys, diapers, hat, snacks, cuddly blanket my son can't live without, Spider-Man, batman and sometimes captain America. A dump truck and shovel for the sandbox at the park. Can you guess? I am a mother of two little ones and what goes in the bike bag will vary day to day! Beautiful bag!

A World of Things

In my Dutchy pannier I would carry a world of things. Some of them would be things I already haul in my bike, like groceries, books, pie and hot tea for a picnic at the park. But perhaps I'd start carrying things I have not imagined yet I can transport by bike simply because I don't have the means that this pannier will offer.

Pannier

I will carry tins of Beer in it. Yep, lots of Beer. When the Beer is finished I will use my new pannier to bring the tins of beer back to the Beer Store.

Trav more than 1 year ago

The things in my bag...

...would include things for work, things from the store, baked goods I grab on the way past the bakery and bicycle safety vests that I give out to people biking the wrong way or on the sidewalk...basically anything to make my life easier in a really cool looking bag!

Linda more than 1 year ago

What I'd carry

I would carry the essentials: an extra tube, tire levers, a pump, a coffee thermos (to work), a 6 pack of beer (to home after work), bananas, milk- pretty much anything depending on the trip.

Becky Billingsley more than 1 year ago

I'd carry...

things I find on the roadside, paints, and groceries sometimes.

What I would carry in my Dutchy

I would carry a multi-tool. And a punctured tube. And a patch kit with dried-up cement. I would also have a wadded-up used Kleenex. Along with a blinky light with a half-discharged battery. Forty-nine cents in change. There would be an old windbreaker with a hole in the left armpit. I would not leave home without a nearly broken rubber band. A chapstick tube that has melted from the heat. In the bottom would be a fine layer of gravel and cat hair. These are the things I would carry.

Dave more than 1 year ago

tools, and...

BEER! (of course, on my way back from work!) I think that would be an excellent picnic basket as well. An extra sweater in there for good measure!

What I'd carry!

I would let it carry my bike lock and my homework. i've got scoliosis so it would be nice to get some of that lock and homework weight off my back!

Robert more than 1 year ago

The Green Guru Dutchy Pannier...

... would help me (stylishly and upcycle-ly) carry all the things that I currently (somewhat uncomfortably) carry on my back: food, books, clothes, etc.

Daniel Yen-Chiu more than 1 year ago

What I'd carry

I would definitely use it for groceries. A few steaks for the grill, some corn cobs, a bag of potatoes for roasting, fixings for a salad, maybe a few cold beers if there's room -- which it appears there is!
In other words, I would use it to carry what's important to me: the food that frames the conversation around my family's dinner table.
I would carry a bit of yesterday in the pannier, too. It looks like there's room for the memories of cycling with my friends on those long highway tours in the mountains all those years ago. Cycling is like that. Start spinning your pedals and moving pictures from the past are immediately projected, at about 78 revolutions per minute, in your imagination.
Because it was on those trips that I learned, really learned about travelling with what you can consume, and no more. Too much was too heavy and too heavy slowed you down.
Besides the groceries and the memories I would also carry some hope in that cool pannier. You might not be able to see that hope as I cycle by. But it's a hope that one person who sees me, sees the pannier will decide to leave the car keys on the counter next time and choose, instead, to take a bicycle to the grocery store.
It's nice to know all of that can be carried in the Green Guru Dutchy Upcycle Banner Pannier.

Beer

I'd also use it for it's beer carrying capabilities, but probably also for groceries.
Perhaps it'd be suitable for picking up home brewing supplies. If so, I'd use it for that as well.

FInally, a beer hauling, cheese storing, olive stashing device

Just when I was growing disheartened with my panniers and how they let my beer, cheese, artisanal bread, and olives get all mashed up together as my friends and I ride to a picnic by the River, along comes this contest with bright hope for a better picnic tomorrow! Thank you Momentum Magazine for thinking of us (well, ME, actually, as I would really use this bag).
