Momentum Mag's coverage of the 2014 North American Handmade Bicycle Show is brought to you in partnership with Brooks England.
The North American Handmade Bicycle Show (NAHBS), taking place March 14-16, 2014, in Charlotte, NC, will celebrate its 10th anniversary as being the world's number one custom bicycles show. NAHBS has grown from a show with 23 exhibitors and 700 attendees, to over 150 exhibitors and 7,200 attendees.
The show is dedicated to showcasing the talents of individuals from around the world whose art form is the bicycle. It aims to be a meeting point – both online and in person – for frame builders and consumers looking for custom-made bikes, for the sharing of ideas, and the promotion of a special industry with a rich history dating back to 1819. Builders attending the show will also compete for awards in categories including best road bike, people’s choice, rookie of the year, and best of show among others.
In addition to being a yearly meeting for bike enthusiasts, NAHBS also strives to make an impact in each city that it travels to each year. This year, NAHBS has partnered with Trips For Kids Charlotte to make a lasting impact on the city’s cycling community through a number of initiatives. NAHBS volunteers will be collecting "Dusty, Not Rusty" donated bikes at the show for Trips for Kids Charlotte for needy families. Fundraising at the show will also support bicycle mentorship programming for at-risk youth provided by Trips for Kids Charlotte.
