I loved everything about my time with Momentum Mag: From the downhill ride into the Vancouver office along the Ontario Street bike route, to fact-checking and redlining articles, as well as researching and writing pieces for the web. Of course, I didn't only learn writing and editorial skills – I learned about bike culture, gear and advocacy as well. It has been an exhilarating ride – but I am lucky to be leaving the magazine for an even more adventurous endeavour.
On September 10, I trade in my pens for panniers. My boyfriend Toby and I will embark on a self-supported bicycle journey from Vancouver, BC, through the Sierra Cascades into Mexico. We will climb mountains, zigzag through city streets and cross deserts on our way south in search of eternal summer. You can follow our escapades through the vast and beautiful landscape of North America on my blog: velotramps.posterous.com.
So the journey continues – for all of us. Looking further ahead, I am excited to watch momentum grow – both in the cycle movement, and in this magazine. I am eager to be part of the shift to a less car-centric society, and grateful that Momentum Mag will be around to keep me informed, up-to-date and connected with the global cycle community. Bon Voyage!
