2013 MEC Bikefest
Make your way to the Christie Lake Conservation Area in Dundas, ON, on Saturday, June 8, 2013 from 11-5 for the 4th annual MEC Bikefest.
MEC Bikefest is a celebration of cycling for all those who share in the joy of riding on two wheels. Explore part of Ontario's Greenbelt by bike and meet other mountain and road riders in a fun and engaging environment. This year, MEC Bikefest will include games, competitions, and activities for everyone. MEC Bikefest also brings together bike industry representatives including vendors, training experts, and nutrition consultants for participants looking to ride longer and faster. The festival offers a variety of activities designed for participation by people of all ages and skill level.
MEC Burlington is honored to be celebrating the opening of new single track mountain bike trails at Christie Lake with the local groups that helped develop them. A portion of proceeds from registration and concessions will be donated to Christie Lake for the development and maintenance of cycling trails. If you’re an early-bird, be sure to join us at 8 am for a trail build just before coming to Bikefest.
Freewheel Cycle in Dundas, ON, and Hardwood Ski and Bike in Barrie, ON, are stoked to get riders of all levels on the new trails at Christie Lake Conservation Area. In addition to beginner and advanced rides, we have youth’s and women’s learn to mountain bike rides. We have two road rides planned; our weekly meet-up group will be cycling to Bikefest from the Burlington Store, and the Hamilton Cycling Club will be leading a road ride from Christie Lake. Momentum Mag is proud to be supporting this year’s event.
