Together We Rise - Montana
CHINO, CA - Together We Rise (TWR), a local non-profit organization, is pleased to announce the successful return of their volunteers from distributing 150 bicycles to children in the Yellowstone Boys and Girls Ranch, a group home in Montana this past weekend.
The Yellowstone Boys and Girls Ranch located in Billings, Montana, houses children from Southern California and Illinois who have been displaced from their home. Yellowstone Boys and Girls Ranch is a
fully accredited, comprehensive services agency providing psychiatric residential and community based services for seriously emotionally disturbed youth.
This summer (2011), TWR provided children in foster care with free BMX bikes throughout the United States. They purchased nearly 1,000 bikes for the kids nationwide. Four of their volunteers, including the
founder, went on a 2 1/2 week road trip across America learning about group homes and foster agencies in different states. Not only did the children get free bicycles and TWR apparel, TWR got to learn about
how successful group homes are with and without government funding.
The vision of Together We Rise is to improve the lives of foster children in America, who often find themselves forgotten and neglected by the public. TWR has built a foundation of passionate volunteers
who work tirelessly to make a difference in underprivileged children’s lives. The foundation has allowed its volunteers to put smiles on many children’s faces in various ways, including sports camps, music, art, and
improving overall living conditions. TWR strives to deliver a sense of normalcy to the children by furnishing them with clothing that actually fit, and by offering support through counseling and mentoring.
