Now they are pants and now they are shorts. It is really that simple. We found the pant legs a shade too long in both the men’s and women’s styles, so these mostly got used as shorts. The pant legs zip on and off very quickly and weigh next to nothing, making them easy to stuff in a backpack or pannier. Even though these pants are not designed for cycling, the pockets never seemed to get in the way or cause pressure points when riding. I loved the fact that the pockets can be zipped up to keep change and loose objects – like keys – from falling out. The nylon fabric used for these shorts dries in a flash, which is handy because these also make great impromptu swim trunks.
