Bike Tribes is a quasi-scientific catalogue of the many species of human cyclists.
The bike tribe categories are caricatures based on the author’s keen observation of the cyclists he has met and interviewed. His concise tribe descriptions at the beginning of each chapter are sublime.
Magnuson’s upbeat, casual writing style makes for a laugh-out-loud funny read that both cyclists and noncyclists will love. And as I read the guide, I plug my cycling pals into their tribal categories. The troubling question is, “What tribe do I belong to?”
