The VANMOOF Electrified is touted as the world's first intelligent bike featuring modern day technologies to improve the daily commute.
A built-in GPS tracker lets you find the VANMOOF Electrified bike if it’s lost or stolen. In fact, one of the first bikes to be supplied to a customer, belonging to Adam Richmond of Miami, FL, was stolen from outside his house. "With my VANMOOF Electrified I rediscovered the freedom that cycling can bring." said Richmond. "That feeling came to a halt last month when I came outside and saw emptiness where I park my VANMOOF: it had been stolen. One of the features that had first turned me on to the VANMOOF Electrified was its GPS tracking ability. I used the app to track my bike, providing me with its exact location. Using this information, the West Palm Beach Police Department recovered my bike and returned it to me, unharmed, within hours of the theft. I'll sleep easy now, and look forward to my morning ride."
The "electrified" in the name comes from a small front wheel 250W motor that is powered by a battery integrated into the frame and is controlled by a top tube integrated dashboard. VANMOOF Electrified's onboard computer monitors cycling behavior and adjusts the bike’s motorized power supply accordingly. The whole bike weighs just 42 lbs (19 kg), thanks to its lightweight battery.
Due to the electric boost, the VANMOOF Electrified is paired with a 2-speed rear hub that shifts automatically when needed. Front and rear illumination is handled by Philips lights integrated into the frame. Stopping power comes from disc brakes both front and rear.
