It was fun seeing all kinds of cargo bikes I’d never seen or heard of before in your Sept./ Oct. 2010 issue. As nifty as some of those bikes looked, however, I am sticking with my WorkCycles bakfiets, the workhorse of cargo bikes! With a weight capacity of 300 pounds, I can easily carry a couple weeks’ worth of groceries or my young nephew – or my massage table and supplies. It’s a heavier bike than some you profiled, but, with the wooden box, I never have to worry about rips in the fabric or busted zippers. Mostly, it’s just a blast to ride. My partner recently said her hair could be on fire and, if we’re riding together, people will still be looking at me on the bakfiets.
