The Heath is Two Wheel Gear’s waxed canvas messenger bag, offered in three colors (Olive, Tan, and Stone White) with a 30L storage capacity. Two Wheel Gear use a unique Staywax canvas from the British Millerain company, nubuck leather, and military grade hardware for construction making The Heath an extremely weather-resistant messenger bag with subtle, timeless good looks.

The waxed canvas is tough and highly water resistant, the kind of bag that will last for many years and get even better looking with age. This canvas is also breathable, machine washable, and doesn’t transfer dyes to clothing. The unique buckle system works the same for both left or right side slinging, keeping the bag very close to the body for a comfortable and manoeuvrable ride. Their custom monogram service allows you to personalize the leather trim with up to five characters. Designed in Vancouver, BC, and constructed in Vancouver and Calgary, AB, these two distinct locales provide the team a variety of testing weather from temperate rainfall and snowy blizzards to hot temps and dry winds with almost everything in between. In fact, on my recent travels thoughout British Columbia and Alberta this winter, The Heath demonstrated it’s adaptability and functioned as the go-to for my daily needs. A two-year warranty applies to workmanship and materials.

WISH LIST

The laptop/ tablet sleeve doesn’t fit my 15” laptop, but with the trend toward smaller devices this may not be a problem for many. Using the sleeve for magazines works well, but as this is a sleeve and not a full pocket, items can slip through to the bottom of the main compartment of the bag. However, smaller compartments inside and out help keep your personal effects organized.

SUMMARY

Loaded up for daily and even weekend getaway use, The Heath has ample proportions to haul your essentials. No matter the weight, this bag is very comfortable and the hardware secure. While carrying my laptop and camera, I was happy to note they have reinforced the floor and backside of the bag with high-density foam for further protection. I appreciated the closure, too – both leather fasteners and a hidden magnet keep the top flap closed no matter your movement. An excellent addition to their lineup, which of course includes their famed Classic Bike Suit Bag.
