Currie Technologies and Belon Engineering have made easily converting normal bikes into electric bikes a reality. The Electron Wheel is a standard 26” front bicycle wheel with an integrated electric motor, and can be installed in seconds. This exciting advancement in electric bicycle conversion will be available through select dealers in December 2013.

The Electron Wheel consists of a high powered, self-contained electric motor that is integrated into a standard 26” wheel, and can be easily fitted onto any standard bike frame within 30 seconds, without the need for specialized tools or equipment.

By replacing the standard front wheel of any normal bike, the Electron Wheel provides motorized pedal assistance without interfering with existing gearing or shift setup. This allows the Electron Wheel to be installed in both single gear and multi-gear bikes. The Electron Wheel’s proprietary technologies utilize an incline sensor that measures slope and applies additional support when you need it most, as well as a wireless crank arm sensor that insures power transmission only when pedaling. This allows the Electron Wheel to provide greater motor assistance on steep inclines and regulate motor assistance throughout use.

Currie Technologies is the exclusive distributor of the Electron Wheel, which will retail for $999.
