VIVA’s chromoly steel frame Juliett 7-speed is essentially an omafiets that’s been shot with a bling-ray. This upright Dutch-style stepthrough boasts roller brakes, a chainguard, a kickstand, a rear rack, fenders, a rear wheel skirt/ coat guard, a 7-speed Shimano Nexus internal gear hub, and a beautifully coordinated red/ cinnamon/ gold color scheme.

Tell Your Friends

You can ride the Juliett wearing whatever you like: its safeguarding elements (chainguard, rear wheel coat/ skirt guard, enclosed 7-speed rear hub, enclosed roller brakes) make the bike conducive to nearly any attire. Meanwhile, the relaxed frame geometry, long stem and swept back upright handlebars allow you to ride in an ultra-comfortable upright posture.

Wish List

For riders in hilly environments, it would be great if the Juliett had easier gear options. It would also be nice to have a higher quality seat; the Juliett’s took about twelve long rides before it started to be tolerable.

Ideal Rider

Women (or men!) whose travels involve few hills and no stairs. Someone who wants a stylish, comfortable, easy-to-use, low maintenance upright bike that’s fun to ride and likely to attract compliments from strangers.

Overall

The relaxed frame geometry, upright set up, and wide tires make for a comfortable riding experience. The bike is so much fun to ride, in fact, that I didn’t really mind its drawbacks (which are mainly that it’s heavy and not adequately geared for hills).
