The About Face Collective is composed of artists, environmentalists and entrepreneurs who want to re-envision city life in a more sustainable and environmentally-friendly manner. Some of their main projects include rooftop and community gardens, eco renovations, retrofitting and affordable housing.
Ford opposed using city funds for bicycle lanes while a City Councilor in 2007, stating "I can't support bike lanes. Roads are built for buses, cars, and trucks. My heart bleeds when someone gets killed, but it's their own fault at the end of the day." During a 2009 discussion about the possibility of removing one of five lanes of traffic on Jervis Street to make room for bicycle lanes, Ford called cyclists "a pain in the ass" for motorists.
