The Raccoon Valley slow ride features a number of bacon-themed stops, lunch and costumes.

The union of bacon and cycling may not be the first thing that comes to mind for a summer getaway, but the BACooN ride in Iowa has proven to be a hit. The ride is a flexible group adventure with up to 72 miles (116 kilometers) of routes. The ride features many bacon-themed stops and, of course, a bacon-based lunch. For those who love bikes, dressing up according to a theme, and raising money for charities, the BACooN ride is an apt adventure. All proceeds from the event go to various Iowa charities.
