Chrome’s Ike Windshirt is a breathable commuter jacket with front wind-stopping panels, breast pockets, and a rear cargo pocket. Made with a wool-like polyester blend for multi-season riding. The styling is casual and the snapped down collars keep your look smart both on and off the bike.

TELL YOUR FRIENDS

This jacket works for many purposes and seasons. The wind-stopping panels on the front keep you warm in autumn/ spring breezes while the pit vents and two-way zipper will help ventilate and cool you on the warmer days. With a cyclist-specific fit, your lower back and arms are purposefully covered while riding allowing full movement with no pinch points. The pass-through rear pocket is roomy and adds decent carrying capacity to this jacket. I also appreciated the zippered cuffs, another small detail that helps with heat control and overall riding comfort.

WISH LIST

When riding at a faster pace and creating some heat, I noticed my mobile phone would often accumulate condensation in the front breast pocket. While the jacket is breathable, the poly-blend fabric is not as moisture-wicking as straight up wool, although it does mimic it to a degree. I found my usual size – men’s large – fit great, but with little room for layering and was snug around the hips.

SUMMARY

This is one of the sharpest looking jackets in my wardrobe. With its flattering, comfortable fit for riding, and some very smart design details, it’s my go-to for most weather conditions when a coat is called for. It even works in a light rain shower. It is not waterproof, but the blend is tight enough to get you some distance before soaking through. The military green color skews towards grey for a nice neutral piece to match your wardrobe. All in all, Chrome has produced a winner with the Ike Windshirt and after six months of wear it still looks and feels like a new jacket.
