Mother’s Day is just around the corner, which means flowers are flying off the shelves and the lunchtime reservations at all of the local restaurants are filling up fast. This Mother’s Day, why not shake up the routine with a fun, bike-related activity that you and your mom can enjoy together? 1. Take a city bike tour
There are over 60 urban bike tour companies in North America! Check out our ever-expanding list of fun city bike tours or see if there’s one operating in your town. From taco tours to history tours to coffee tours, you’re sure to find something your mom will love.

2. Go on a bike picnic
It’s Mother’s Day lunch, bike style! Pack your panniers with bread, cheese, and mom’s favorite bottle of wine and head off to your local park, riverside, or beach to soak up the Sunday afternoon sun.

3. Head to the local
Is mum more interested in pilsner than posies? With more and more bike-friendly bars, cafés and microbreweries springing up all over the country, it’s never been easier to take the bike lane straight to the tap.

4. Fix your bikes together
The old American pastime of boys working on their cars with their fathers gets a two-wheeled makeover this Mother’s Day. Grab a grease rag, a set of allen keys and a good, upbeat playlist and spend the day getting your bikes ready for spring. Working on your bikes together is a great way to spend some quality time with mom while getting prepped for a summer of city cruising.

5. Head to the farmers’ market to shop for a meal
Does your mom love cooking as a way to spend quality time with the family? Head down to your local farmer’s market to pick up fresh fruit and veggies for a Mother’s Day meal. Load your panniers with mum’s favortie ingredients and work up an appetite for a nice Sunday evening meal on the bike ride home.
