In I Never Intended To Be Brave, Andersen shares with us the challenges and triumphs of her long journey. While she describes the people and places she visits we also get a very detailed retelling of what she’s thinking throughout the journey. We’re taken along for the ride and face the same opposition, conflicting reports of travel conditions and unknown roads and dangers along the way. We meet helpful and curious characters in countries we may know little about, learning about the history of these areas and how this has shaped the many encounters Andersen has along the way. An enlightening read about personal triumph and an enduring spirit.
