Where does the time go? Just as we seemed to be kicking our feet up and getting comfortable in the long, lazy days of summer, another school year is upon us. For some parents, managing the hustle and bustle of school and sports and activities by bicycle feels like second nature, but for those who have never tried it before, the prospect can feel pretty daunting. Fortunately, continue a family cycling routine through the school year is much more fun than it is difficult, and encourages a new generation of cycling enthusiasts in the process!

We asked our readers to share their tips, tricks and best practices for tackling the back-to-school season by bike. Here’s what they had to say:

“Waterproof jackets. September usually has unpredictable weather, and a waterproof is good for rain and wind.”  – Ace Kristyan Bieler

“One pedal in front of the other! #PedalOn” – Maree Grandy

  • The top photo is so cool! I love cycling with my kid to school but fortunately I live only a short distance away. I know its not possible or easy for a lot of parents , but its great to see fellow parents and carers encouraging each other to form healthier habits!
