Everyone knows Raleigh Bikes. – you have either owned one, seen one, or borrowed one. Raleigh is one of the oldest bike brands in North America and has maintained a solid, reliable reputation in the Dirt and Road bike categories for as long as we can remember – or at least since the company was first established in 1887.

Now, as the versatile bike brand they are, they are dominating once again by launching a line of City Bikes. And, of course, they’re making sure they have all the bases covered in that category: Commuters, Dutch style step-throughs, Women’s, Tandems, E-Bikes, and Kids’. Yes, that’s a mouthful right there.

A few of the highlights of the new collection are, of course, in the “Classics”. The Wilder, Haskell, or Superbe, are all great options for the city rider. The Classics offer a range of riding styles from single-speed, 3, 5, or 7-speed, and as well feature women’s options.

The Wilder, for example, has a Classic Steel Frame with Disc Mount, Weinman Double Wall 32h rims, a Satin Steel Finish Classic Sweep Handlebars with Brown cork Grips, and is available in Orange. The Haskell, is the 5-speed version of the Wilder. Likewise featuring a Classic Steel Frame, the bike also comes with a Sturmey Archer 5-speed Thumb Shifter, and comes in Dark Green. Both models are Rack and Fender ready as well.

The Women’s Gala Cruiser, is designed for just that – leisure rides cruising along with no hurry! The single-speed model comes with Raleigh’s Classic Steel Twin Tube Low Step-through, Alloy Silver 640 Width 60mm Sweep Handlebars with Velo Black Cork Grips, and is available in Pink. The Women’s Superbe is Raleigh’s 7-speed Cruiser and is the perfect choice for a hilly city. The model has Shimano Tourney 7-speed with Revo Shifter, and is available in White and Black. Both Cruisers come with Rear Racks.

The other models within the City Bike line – what Raleigh names the “Around Town”, “Neighborhood,” Ebikes, and Youth bikes, all serve to round out a complete collection for any urban rider’s needs.

It is encouraging to see a brand with as much recognition as Raleigh catering to the needs of urban bike riders. We’re excited about this new city line not just for the bikes, but what they symbolize. City biking is growing, and fast!
