Denver Bicycle Cafe
1308 East 17th Avenue, Denver, CO
denverbicyclecafe.com
The Denver Bicycle Cafe wears three distinct hats that all seem to fit perfectly: taphouse, coffeehouse, and bike shop. Opening at 6 am, the coffeehouse serves locally-roasted coffee and simple snacks. When the espresso machines turn off at 5 pm, the taps start pouring. Choose from a rotating crop of local microbrews or a wider selection of cans. From 9 am to 6 pm, the cafe/ bar is also a full-service bike shop that offers repairs, sales, and customized builds. If you miss the shop’s closing time, drop your bike off during bar hours and a mechanic will get back to you when the shop reopens.

Pepe’s Bistro
3227 South 13th Street, Lincoln, NE

Pepe’s Bistro in Lincoln, NE, is a little restaurant with a big heart. The veg-Mex bistro serves up a constantly-evolving menu of hearty, healthy Mexican dishes using locally-sourced ingredients whenever possible. They offer a 10 percent discount to customers who arrive by bike, and on Saturdays they barter used biked parts for food discounts. Through their barter program, owner Pepito Fierro was able to establish Lincoln’s first community bike shop, Lincoln Bike Kitchen, in 2010. Any used bike parts that are too damaged to use are turned into art.

The City Bakery/ Birdbath
3 W 18th Street, New York City, NY
thecitybakery.com
The City Bakery and its smaller sister shop, Birdbath, are two of the most beloved – and perhaps most sustainable – eateries in New York City. With seasonal menus created and sourced from local ingredients at the nearby farmers’ market, the bakeries prove that you don’t have to leave the city for farm-fresh food. City Bakery ferries materials between the two storefronts with a bicycle-powered rickshaw and the cafes are partially wind-powered and built from recycled materials. They offer discounts to any customers who arrive by bike or skateboard, a welcome discount indeed during the annual winter hot chocolate festival.

Peddler Brewing Company

Peddler Brewing Company was born of the owners’ shared love of beer and bikes. Within the microbrewery and tasting room you will find 12 regular taps, some rotating seasonal brews, and owners Haley Woods and David Keller, who love to talk shop about biking in Seattle. Keller’s younger brother Mike, who helps with sales and distribution, does his deliveries with a retrofitted city bike, and the brewery, located in Seattle’s Ballard neighborhood, features indoor bicycle parking and a bike repair station for customers arriving on two wheels.
