Electra not all about cruisers with release of spiffy new urban e-bike

Electra is best known as a bicycle company with a lot of lovely curves. Its iconic beach cruisers are instantly recognizable. But, apparently, Electra isn’t a one-trick bike company. Their Loft Go! line is right up the urban cyclist’s alleyway, and the California-based brand has just released a new electric version.

The new Loft Go! 7D EQ urban e-bike is an affordable urban e-bike in the hybrid style with both a step-over and a step-through model priced at $1,999US.

Taking inspiration from the brand’s Loft collection, the electric version features updated frame designs to optimize the riding experience for city commuting. Not only will riders of the Loft Go! easily traverse the variety of terrain found within their daily commute, but they’ll also enjoy the e-bike’s clean aesthetic and craftsmanship.

Electric Motor and Battery

The Electra Loft Go! 7D EQ features a rear-hub motor with a top speed of 20 mph. The fully-integrated 250Wh battery is housed discreetly in the down tube and provides a range up to 40 miles.. The battery is removable, so you can charge it at home or at work, and it can be fully charged in just a few hours. The bike also has an intuitive display that shows your speed, distance, and battery level at a glance.

Gears and Brakes

The Electra Loft Go! 7D EQ has a 7-speed Shimano drivetrain that makes it easy to find the right gear for any terrain. The gears are operated by a twist shifter, which is located on the right side of the handlebars. The bike also comes with hydraulic disc brakes that provide powerful, reliable stopping power in all weather conditions.

All-in the bike weights in at about 43 pounds, which is on the light side for e-bikes.

Style it up

The Electra allows for some customization with tan or black faux leather grips and saddle.
