Bike Friday, known for its folding bicycles, has announced the All-Day, an electric bike that weighs just 33 pounds and folds in 20 seconds. The new model is powered by the Bosch Performance Line SX motor and designed to cater to both commuters and long-distance cyclists looking for a compact, travel-ready e-bike.

Unlike many e-bikes in the category, the All-Day is designed to pack into a standard airline-checkable suitcase, making it an appealing option for riders who frequently travel with their bikes. The integration of Bosch’s lightweight SX motor, combined with a unique exoskeleton frame design, allows for a compact and efficient drivetrain setup. Bike Friday partnered with Vapor Propulsion Labs (VPL), Bosch’s North American integration specialist, to develop the frame’s motor mount, which pivots to tension a chain or Gates belt drive without requiring additional tensioners.

The bike is available in multiple drivetrain configurations, including a traditional derailleur system, SRAM Apex AXS wireless shifting, and internal hub options such as Rohloff with a Gates belt drive. Bosch’s 400Wh and 545Wh batteries provide the primary power source, with the option to extend the range further using the 250Wh PowerMore battery.

“We’ve built more than 40,000 bikes in our 32-year history, and I’m proud to present the All-Day as yet again a world first.  Designing to meet the needs of our customers in a way that our partnership with Bosch makes newly possible,” says Bike Friday CEO Hanna Scholz. “Customers have been asking for a U.L. certified Bosch e-bike. Now, after more than a year of design work, prototyping, and field testing, we are proud to deliver an ultralight e-bike that combines the reliability of Bosch with the repairability, sustainability and customer satisfaction of Bike Friday frames.”

The All-Day represents a first in several categories: it’s the lightest Bosch-powered e-bike on the market, the first Bosch e-bike designed to be airline-checkable, and the first to use an eccentric bottom bracket motor mount for increased drivetrain flexibility. It remains true to Bike Friday’s approach of custom, handmade bikes, built to order in Eugene, Oregon.
