Talk about a game-changer, California-based startup Morelle has announced the launch of its debut e-bike—an ultra-lightweight ride that fully charges in under 15 minutes and hits pedal-assist speeds up to 28 mph. Weighing in at just 30 pounds, this bike is not only faster to charge than anything else on the market, but it’s also lighter than many premium carbon-frame models.
The new bike had its debut, of sorts, at this month’s Sea Otter festival in California, and people can now reserve one of the first models via the Morelle website.
Morelle was founded in 2023 by a team of engineers and energy experts with deep experience in lithium battery tech, robotics, and mobility innovation. CEO Michael Sinkula and CTO Dr. Kevin Hays lead the charge, combining Silicon Valley energy with a passion for redefining transportation. But what really sets the company apart is the presence of cycling icon Gary Fisher, who serves as Head Developer. Fisher, often credited as one of the inventors of the modern mountain bike, brings decades of insight into performance cycling and bike culture, anchoring the Morelle design in real-world riding experience.
Their key innovation? A proprietary Level 2M charging system that can power the bike using a standard wall outlet in just 15 minutes. With access to a higher current outlet, the charging speed can exceed 1,500 watts, making it faster than some EVs.
The e-bike is powered by a 350Wh silicon-based battery, originally developed for aviation applications, now reengineered for urban transport. That translates to about an hour of riding at full power—no need for Eco-mode or limiting your route just to preserve juice. Paired with a compact, high-torque mid-drive motor, the bike delivers smooth acceleration and top-end performance that keeps pace with city traffic.

But speed and power aren’t the only headline features. The bike’s aluminum frame brings the total weight to just 30 pounds, making it easy to carry up stairs, lift onto transit racks, or store inside tight urban apartments. This portability is a big win for riders in cities where space is at a premium.
And safety hasn’t been left behind. Morelle uses UL-certified batteries and chargers, adding peace of mind to a product that’s pushing the envelope. The overall package is sleek, minimalist, and efficient—engineered not just to perform, but to make e-bikes a seamless part of daily life.
With its debut model, Morelle isn’t just releasing a new e-bike—it’s offering a whole new way to think about electric transportation. Fast, lightweight, stylish, and smart, this bike is aimed at riders who demand more from their micromobility.
Reservations are now open, and with early buzz from outlets like GearJunkie, Pinkbike, and Bicycle Retailer, Morelle is poised to make a major mark on the future of urban movement.
