Canadian e-bike manufacturer DŌST has teamed up with the People For Bikes Coalition to spearhead a new campaign to get people riding bicycles in North America dubbed #RideSomeGood.

“We teamed up with PeopleForBikes so we could work toward a common goal — getting the streets filled with bicycles,” said Cary Leis, DŌST co-director of sustainability. “We provide the electric assist bikes that enable more people to ride more often, which is critically important from a climate change perspective, as well as health. But we recognize that advocacy organizations also play a critical role, so we’re proud to be supporting them with funding this summer.”

We are in the middle of a well-documented bicycle boom that has seen a large increase in ridership over the past two years, and this campaign continues that push and focuses on e-bikes, which allows for greater accessibility to this wonderful pastime we all adore. One that is healthy for those who engage in the activity, healthy for the cities that push for safe cycling infrastructure, and healthy for the planet as one of the simplest and most effective ways to tackle the climate crisis.

The campaign will run throughout the summer with prizes for completing monthly challenges including a grand prize of a free DŌST eBike.

The #RideSomeGood campaign includes two distinct components open to all including a 1,000,000 kilometer challenge that utilizes the People For Bikes free Ride Spot app to track rides and monthly challenges with prizes.

DŌST will donate $1,000 for every 100,000 kilometers ridden, with a maximum donation of $10,000 for 1 million kilometres—$7,000 to PeopleForBikes and $3,000 to VeloCanada.

The nonprofit People For Bikes is a national bicycle advocacy organization.

“It’s great to see PeopleForBikes member companies using creative Ride Spot incentives like #RideSomeGood to get more people riding more often,” said Rod Judd, director of membership and industry engagement with People For Bikes. “We’re glad to be working with supporters like DŌST that share our belief that bikes will help build a better future.”
