B-cycle Introduces First Bike Share Tricycle

“The B-Trike is a commitment that I made to advocate Laureen Ferris from the City and County of Denver who championed for people with disabilities,” said Bob Burns, President of B-cycle, LLC. “She pushed me to think of ways to expand access to public bike share, so I made this commitment to her to develop the world’s first integrated and mainstreamed bike share trike.”

Piloted in Madison, WI, the B-Trike was designed by Trek Bicycle Corporation for use in any B-cycle system. The tricycle design provides stability for users who may not be comfortable on two wheels or who need extra storage capacity for grocery trips. There are no additional fees for using a B-Trike.

B-cycle plans to add B-Trikes to existing fleets after this preliminary test.
