We know and love Priority Bicycles for its inventive collection of city bike ideal for the urban environment. But Priority is more than that. Since its debut in 2016, Priority Bicycles has carved out a reputation in the adventure cycling space with its lineup of low-maintenance, belt-drive rigs tailored for everything from long-haul road tours to rugged, off-grid excursions. This week, the New York-based company expands its footprint in the bikepacking world with the release of the Bruzer—a new model developed in partnership with cyclist and YouTuber Ryan Van Duzer, and shaped by direct feedback from the bikepacking community.
The Bruzer enters the scene as the latest in Priority’s growing 600-series adventure lineup. It’s a multi-terrain touring bike that aims to strike a balance between price, performance, and ease of use. The Bruzer features a Pinion gearbox and Gates Carbon Belt Drive to eliminate many of the maintenance headaches typically associated with long-distance, mixed-surface travel.
Unlike previous models that leaned heavily on internal R&D, the Bruzer’s design process leaned outward: Van Duzer solicited feedback from his YouTube followers, asking them what they wanted in an affordable but capable bikepacking setup. “The goal was to build something that stripped away barriers—whether financial or mechanical—that keep people from trying bikepacking,” he said.
Priced at $2,499 USD (with an introductory discount bringing it to $2,299 through late May), the Bruzer positions itself as a relatively affordable entry into the high-spec gear-hauling category. It joins a lineup that now includes five models in the 600 Adventure Collection, each tuned for a different type of rider or terrain. The 600ADX and 600ADXTi are built for dirt roads and remote backcountry routes. The 600HXT offers a hardtail-style setup geared for technical off-road trails. And the 600 All-Road is tailored for long-distance road tours with minimal fuss.
Van Duzer on the Bruzer
The Bruzer is designed to slot neatly between these disciplines—comfortable on pavement, but equally at home grinding out dusty miles on fire roads or forest tracks. Its Pinion drivetrain offers a wide gear range, sealed from the elements, and the belt drive means no chain grease or derailleur worries.
For Van Duzer and Priority, the Bruzer represents more than just a new product—it’s an experiment in collaborative design. “This bike was born out of conversations,” said Van Duzer. “It’s meant to make bikepacking feel more inviting and less intimidating—especially for folks who are just getting started.”
The timing seems right. The global bikepacking market is growing steadily, projected to reach $94 million USD by 2033, according to Business Research Insights. And with more riders looking to disconnect and explore on two wheels, simple, durable setups like the Bruzer could help widen the gateway.
Later this year, Van Duzer will be leading the “Tour de Duzer” ride in Boulder, Colorado, showcasing the new model on a community ride that celebrates the bikepacking ethos.
