Yuba and PeopleForBikes Team up for Bike Infrastructure

Yuba Bicycles, a leading North American manufacturer of cargo bikes, has teamed up with PeopleForBikes to raise money for bicycle infrastructure in the US. The company has designed a limited edition Boda Boda cargo bike featuring PeopleForBikes colors and branding so riders can show their support for increased investment in bike infrastructure.

For each of the bikes sold, $100 of the $999 purchase price will go towards PFB’s Community Grant Program, which provides funding for projects that leverage federal funding towards bicycle-based initiatives or undertake bike infrastructure projects and advocacy work. Since its inauguration, the Community Grant Program has awarded 272 grants to non-profit organizations and local governments across the US, investing nearly $2.5 million and leveraging $650 million in public and private funding towards bicycle infrastructure.

Benjamin Sarrazin, owner of Yuba Bicycles, calls the initiative “a great way for bike shop owners to engage their customers in conversation about PeopleForBikes and their work on behalf of the bicycling movement,” noting that PFB’s work is crucial to the development of bicycling in the US.

Sarrazin, who grew up riding bicycles around his hometown of Strasbourg France, extended his childhood hobby to a life-long passion and founded Yuba Bicycles when he moved to the US. Determined to help promote a European-style biking culture in North America, Sarrazin and the team at Yuba work to inspire healthy, sustainable living through a love of bicycles.

The 50 limited edition Yuba and PeopleForBikes Boda Boda cargo bikes are currently available for preorder, and will be available online and at Yuba dealers across the US starting May 1.
