This spring, Bell released its new XR Spherical helmet ($299CAD) offering unparalleled protection and a versatility that makes it a solid choice for cyclists of all types from urban commuters to gravel bikepackers.

What makes the Bell helmet such a sound investment is that this do-everything helmet that puts to good use some fantastic safety features and technology. For instance, the Spherical Technology™ powered by Mips®, helps reroute impact forces away from the brain.

Bell uses this helmet-within-a-helmet construction that is designed to offer more protection against closed-head injuries by rerouting the impact force away from the brain. The XR Spherical also uses two different types of foam — EPS and expanded polypropylene (EPP) to better manage impacts.

Safety features aside, the new helmet is also well-ventilated and comfortable and is an ideal choice no matter your two-wheeled pursuit.

There is also a great range of color options from classic camo to splashes of glossy pink and green. Other features include Fidlock™, which is a magnetic chin buckle that snaps effortlessly into place, there is also rear reflective detailing, Float Fit with a dial adjustment, and it weighs just 285 grams, not to mention the very comfortable padding.

This helmet is sturdy, rugged even, it’s a pleasure to wear, and it is built to last a long time whether your daily use is in a bike lane in San Francisco, or bikepacking on gravel roads through the Eastern Townships of Quebec.
