When we decided to revive Momentum, we already knew what worked, but the landscape had evolved. In addition to providing useful and fun information for cyclists of all types, we wanted to be more of a voice for those bicycle-loving city dwellers craving safe places to ride in addition to advocating for the enormous environmental benefits of cycling. And, no surprise, our readers responded. You responded.
But, it wasn’t just advocacy, readers also enjoyed a full slate of uniquely Momentum-style articles from biking with a dog to a review of a folding e-bike. Here is our top 10 for 2021. Enjoy, and thanks once again for supporting Momentum.
At Momentum, we don’t cover the spandex set or other types of cycling, but we do love a good upright bicycle. And so do our readers. Our primer on upright bicycles was a hit.
During a rough pandemic, two things saw us through and made sure we were active and as happy as could be: bicycles and dogs. This year, we learned we can play with both at the same time!
More people are riding bicycles than ever before thanks to the bicycle boom, but the pandemic made it more than a bit difficult to find one. Even used bicycles are tough to find, but our guide seemed to help.
Bromptons are in a unique class, and they are so fun. When they came out with an electric version of the classic C-Line, we just had to check it out.
There is a massive movement around the world, cities are finally deciding to share the space around and put people and bicycles front and centre. Paris’s big move is inspiring city leaders in North America, too.
Folding bikes are fun and fantastic for commuters. The popularity of our guide shows we are not alone in thinking that.
We love this event that started in Milan, Italy and spread around the world.
As mentioned, our coverage of cycling advocacy has proven popular with readers, especially what’s happening in New York City.
Slow Roll Detroit helped usher in an awesome new era for city cyclists and the slow biking movement. We caught up with one of the founders, Jason Hall, to chat about his new project in Motor City.
Last but not least, one of our first articles published during our comeback year was this fun look at the key figures of the tall bike scene.
