You never know what technological marvel will come next at Eurobike, case in point a new cargo bike from e-bike startup TARRAN that comes with “landing gear” that deploy under the bike akin to a plane before it lands.
The brand’s new flagship intelligent e-cargo bike, the TARRAN T1 Pro, features the proprietary Dynamic Dualdrive landing gear, which deploy and retract automatically at low speeds to maintain balance and reduce the risk of tipping over.
The tipping risk for cargo bikes isn’t very well-documented, although there is certainly a difference when pedalling a cargo bike with a large front box as opposed to a traditional bicycle, except at the time when heavy and large loads are added. But the TARRAN T1 Pro is a two-wheeled, front box cargo bike, like an Urban Arrow, so there might be some risk of tipping. The landing gear also operate as a kickstand.
The TARRAN T1 Pro is designed for family use, providing room for 2-3 children with its compact 2.26-meter length, ensuring agile maneuverability. It is equipped with a touchscreen that manages lights, navigation, and locking, aiming to make cycling more convenient. Radar and cameras are installed to continuously monitor the surroundings, providing real-time alerts for safer rides. Additionally, Bluetooth speakers, wireless charging, and various accessories aim to enhance urban mobility.
The bike’s Dynamic Dualdrive landing gear is notable for its automatic deployment when braking to a low speed, and retraction when riding is stable. These gears, controlled by separate motors and featuring suspension, offer adaptive support on uneven surfaces. The landing gear can also be manually lowered for easier pushing and serve as an e-kickstand when locked in position, providing balance support at red lights or when parking.
The touchscreen integrates with an app and handlebar buttons, offering easy access to functions like smart lighting, landing gear, and a selfie camera. The bike also features theft prevention measures through a sentry mode, activated after power shutdown, which detects anomalies and records live video.

The T1 Pro has a maximum weight capacity of 220kg, accommodating two children under 1.26 meters in the cargo box or three Euroboxes. A rear MIK rack allows for additional cargo or a seat for an extra child. The dual-battery design provides a range of up to 200km, with batteries concealed at the bottom of the cargo box for theft prevention and protection from aging.
In terms of safety, the T1 Pro is equipped with full suspension, 180mm hydraulic disc brakes, Gates Carbon Drive CDX, and Enviolo Heavy Duty hub, reducing maintenance needs. The dual-cable steering system allows a maximum steering angle of 90°, enhancing flexibility in narrow spaces. The bike’s motor, developed in-house, collects information from sensors, performs high-speed computations, and outputs signals for smoother riding assistance. This motor provides 100Nm of torque, supporting uphill climbs and heavy loads.
Safety features include a rear camera and radar for monitoring approaching vehicles, handlebar vibration alerts, and a front-facing 180° camera for enhanced road visibility. The smart lighting system includes high and low beam front lights, turning lights, and automatic braking lights.
The T1 Pro integrates several smart features to enhance the riding experience. It has built-in Bluetooth speakers, a Qi2.0 wireless charging panel, and USB ports for power output. The TARRAN app provides theft prevention measures, including sentry mode and real-time tracking. The bike also features a 1080P headtube camera for taking selfies and capturing moments during rides.
The T1 Pro uses recyclable EPP cargo box material, environmentally friendly water-based paint, and some recycled aluminum parts. TARRAN partners with top consulting firms to ensure GDPR compliance, embedding privacy considerations into all smart features. The bike’s design, in collaboration with KISKA, features a unique one-piece main frame with integrated intelligent lighting and sensors, creating a modern industrial aesthetic.
The TARRAN T1 Pro is expected to be available to order via the official TARRAN website by the end of 2024. There is no pricing information yet.
