Bike The Night Gets Ready to Roll in Vancouver

The fun, social ride supports HUB’s efforts at making the city more bikeable.

The only thing better than a Friday evening bike ride around town with your friends is a Friday evening bike ride around town with your friends, and a whole bunch of others. That’s the idea behind Bike the Night, which is getting set to roll into Vancouver, BC on September 16, 2016.

Bike the Night is Vancouver’s first and only permitted night ride, offering riders the opportunity to experience the beauty and energy of a large group ride as dusk settles over this coastal city. Hosted by HUB, Vancouver’s local cycling advocacy organization, Bike the Night will take riders on a 10 KM (6 mile) ride through Kitsilano, Shaughnessy, and the newly constructed Arbutus Greenway. The car-free (and surprisingly flat) route is perfect for riders of any age and any ability.

With the city reeling from the considerable downsizing of our much loved Bike Rave, HUB stepped up to the plate to ensure Vancouver residents and visitors still have the opportunity to spend an evening of revelry on two wheels in the company of strangers and new friends. Participants are encouraged to wear their best and brightest (lights), don costumes, and get ready to celebrate the love of all things bikes.

Roll up at 6 pm on the 18th for the pre-party which includes drinks & snacks, prize giveaways, free basic bike repair, and a free copy of the latest issue of Momentum Mag. Participants from Pro Walk/ Pro Bike/ Pro Place (taking place September 12-15) receive $5 off the $15 ticket price. More details are available on HUB’s website. See you there!
