Sarah Johnson’s bicycle/ coffee shop located in the historic Benson district of Omaha, NE, is unique in many ways. The woman-owned and operated shop is one of the only commuter/ touring/ utility /transportation bike stores in Omaha, home to Nebraska’s only bike corral, and the only place in town to get a cup of Intelligentsia Coffee. Since opening on Halloween 2012, Johnson has made it a priority to not only create an accessible and welcoming space for bike riders of all stripes, but also to further expand the acceptance and appeal of bicycling in Omaha through diligent work at city hall.

Sarah has done a wonderful job incorporating the bicycle shop into the community fabric. She is awesome and a very impressive person. I am from St Louis, and my Omaha friends told me I had to check out the Omaha Bicycle Company. They were absolutely correct, it is a great shop, with earthy and wholesome people. Coffee was good too! Still wearing the OBC black jersey, which gets compliments ALL the time. I like the one in the photo too!
