Comfort and adaptability are also central to Cannondale’s design philosophy, ensuring enjoyable and practical rides tailored to individual preferences.

The Cargowagen Neo solves daily challenges with ease. From ferrying children to transporting belongings, Cannondale’s e-bikes are the solution. Offering a sustainable alternative to cars or public transport, the Cargowagen Neo simplifies urban commuting. Here are some highlights about the Cargowagen Neo:

This announcement reflects a burgeoning era for e-cargo bikes, exemplified by Cannondale’s 52-year legacy in the bicycle industry. Owned by Dutch powerhouse Pon Holdings, Cannondale’s venture into cargo bikes underscores the golden age of e-cargo biking.

The Cargowagen Neo’s US debut is set for the upcoming winter season, starting at $4,300. European cyclists can anticipate its arrival earlier, with a price tag of €4,000 in the fall. Sporting a 10-speed Shimano Deore transmission, mid-drive Bosch motor, and the potential for two batteries, the Cargowagen Neo is tailored for practicality. Its small yet sturdy 20-inch wheels, step-thru frame, adjustable handlebars, and adaptable saddle design cater to riders of varying sizes, crucial for maintaining stability and accessibility when handling substantial loads.

Distinguishing between the US and European models, the former is powered by a 545Wh Bosch battery paired with a Bosch Performance Speed motor capable of reaching 28 mph. The European counterpart employs a Bosch Cargo Line motor, adhering to EU regulations with a maximum speed of 25 km/h. An optional 725Wh Bosch battery further enriches the selection.

A hallmark of the Cargowagen Neo’s design is its blend of durability and agility. The 20-inch wheels ensure resilience while maintaining stability, making it ideal for navigating urban environments with children or groceries. An 80mm front suspension guarantees a smooth ride, absorbing road imperfections. Robust 4-piston hydraulic brakes deliver essential stopping power for a bike of this size and weight. The step-through frame, low center of gravity, and included dropper post collectively offer riders an adjustable and upright position, ensuring a comfortable fit for any journey.

The Cargowagen Neo combines the practicality of a minivan with the sleek aesthetics of a sports car. Equipped with the dependable Bosch Performance Speed motor and a Bosch PowerPack, riders can anticipate 545Wh of power and 85 Nm of torque, ensuring seamless hill climbing. With a total load capacity exceeding 440 lbs, including both rider and bike, this Class-3 e-bike accommodates heavy-duty needs. Adding panniers to the rear rack allows for a weight capacity of 175 lbs, suitable for carrying gear or groceries. If transporting kids is the goal, the rear rack can support up to two children, each weighing approximately 60 lbs.
